A dialogue on "Migration to the UK from Bangladesh: Opportunities and Constraints" at the auditorium of the British Council, 5 Fuller Road, Dhaka-1000 at 11:00 am on Thursday, 4 May, 2006. This dialogue will be held under the project "Transnationalism and Development" in collaboration with the British Council and supported by British High Commission. Ms. Siobhán McPhee and Ms. Penelope Anthias, Research Fellows of RMMRU will share their research findings on labour and student migration to the UK in the dialogue. Mr. Nurul Islam, Director, Research, Monitoring & Computer, BMET, Mr. Jon Verney, Deputy Head of Visa Services, British High Commission, Mr. K. M. Mazharul Islam, Operation Manager, London Metropolitan University Bangladesh Liaison Office and Ms. Raiqah Ripa Walie, Education Promotion & Marketing Manager, British Council will participate to the programme as designated discussants. Dr Tasneem Siddiqui, Coordinator, Transnationalism and Development Project, RMMRU will moderate the dialogue programme. Ms. Helen de Gier, Projects Officer, Press & Public Affairs Section, British High Commission and Mr Richard Sunderland, Deputy Director, Exam, the British Council will attend the programme as special guest. A number of representatives of several Universities and Governmental and Non governmental organizations will participate the programme.
